Денежные вклады коммерческих банков в Банке Англии. Банк Англии - это центральный банк Великобритании, выступающий в роли «банка банков». Коммерческие банки имеют в нем свои счета и погашают задолженность друг перед другом путем взаимозачета средств на этих счетах (см. Clearing house system). Кроме этого, Банк Англии обязывает коммерческие банки периодически открывать специальные депозиты. Такую меру государство использует в качестве инструмента своей политики регулирования денежной массы. См. Special deposits, Cash reserves ratio, Reserve asset ratio.
